At this downtown theatre, people will gather in a century's old building to witness emerging artists perform the new and the avant-garde. Our vision of the theatre incorporates this meeting of contrasts: the old and the new, the classical and the experimental, the brightness of day and the excitement of night. Programmatically the theatre is always changing, and this theatricality will be mimicked in the physical design of the space. Through simple measures like shifting furniture layouts, lighting cues, curtain systems, and moveable walls, the space transforms to suit the diversity of its programme and the range of the clientele.
